Horatio Alger Assocation

Deadline: Application is available online August 1 – October 25

Since 1984, the Horatio Alger Assocation has awarded over $143 million in college scholarships to derserving students. This program provides financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perserverance in overcoming personal adversity. The awards range from $6,000 to $25,000.

Elegibility criteria include: high school graduation in spring/summer, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United State citizenship.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Deadline: November 15, 2018 at 5:00pm CST

The Hagen Scholarship is a nationwise need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the oppurtunity to graduate college debt free. The intended recipient of a Hagen Scholarship is a high-achieving, self-motiviated student who will require financial assistance to attend college. Each award provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters and includes a $15,000 Schwab Investment Account and fully paid Study Abroad Award.

TriState Music Festival

Deadline: April 15, 2018

There are several scholarships available to senior music students (music and non-music majors). These include:

Tri-State Music Scholarship – $500 for one year
Tri-State Music Festival – Band Scholarship – $2000 tuition waiver, awarded annually, to NOC Enid or Tonkawa Campus
Tri-State Music Festival – Vocal Music Scholarship – $2000 tuition waiver, awarded annually, to NOC Tonkawa Campus
Tri-State Musica Festival Band Scholar -$1000 for one year, admission to NWOSU

Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling

GPACAC STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
Three $1000 scholarships to students in NE, KS, and OK. Students must meet acadmic & essay requirements.

PAUL MAX SCHOLARSHIP
One $1000 scholarship to a senior in NE, KS, or OK. Student must complete community service hours.

COUNSELOR NOMINATED SCHOLARSHIP
Amount varies. Couselor must be a GPACAC member to nominate a student using the online form.

 

 


Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship Opportunity

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has partnered with the College Board to increase scholarship opportunities for students who’ve taken the PSAT/NMSQT® and PSAT™ 10.

Scholarships can open doors for students who aspire to go to college but don't have the funds. The Cooke Foundation provides one of the largest scholarships in the country for high-achieving students with financial need.

Did you know?

More than half (54%) of the students who won the Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship last year took the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 and were discovered through Student Search Service®.

The Cooke College Scholarship seeks out underrepresented students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities through the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10.

The application deadline is November 20, so encourage eligible students to apply soon (exclusively through the Common App) 

 


Lighting the Way to Education…

Sure, OG&E might be helping families throughout Oklahoma light up their homes this holiday season, but they aren’t stopping there. In 2019, they will light three students' way to college with a $15,000 scholarship opportunity encouraging students from the OG&E service territory to pursue higher education! 

Eligibility requirements for the OG&E Energy Corporation Foundation Scholarship include:

 

  • Graduation from a high school in Oklahoma or western Arkansas
  • Unweighted GPA ≥ 3.25
  • ACT score ≥ 25/ SAT ≥ 1200

 

Students must attend a college or university in Oklahoma or Arkansas, and preference will be given to students pursuing a degree that leads to a future career in the energy field as well as to students in need of financial aid.

 

If your students are looking for something to do over winter break, encourage them to begin preparing their application for this opportunity! The deadline to apply for the OGE Energy Corporation Foundation Scholarship is February 15, 2019.
